About TDA
Thoroughbred Derivatives Australia (TDA) promotes and preserves the breeding, performance, and identification of Thoroughbred derivative horses throughout Australia.
TDA maintains the TDA Studbook, an independent registry. Every registered horse is recorded in the one TDA Studbook, in one of three registers — Gold — Foundation Register, Silver — Sport Register, or Bronze — Derivative Register — based on verified Thoroughbred ancestry, with identity, pedigree verification and ownership history recorded and preserved for the life of the horse.
TDA is an independent registry, separate from the Australian Stud Book. TDA does not operate a direct integration with the Australian Stud Book’s own records or systems.
Pedigree information is reviewed and verified by authorised TDA staff using accepted supporting documentation. Thoroughbred percentage is never assumed from unknown ancestry. DNA evidence may be required to verify Thoroughbred ancestry, parentage or other registration information where applicable.
